(2/2) succeed. "Nothing clarifies like clarity.""

Tear it down

..to save the franchise (if anyone cares to save the franchise). In 2002, before the cavs got the first pick, when Ricky Davis was trying to shoot and miss at his own basket just to get a triple double (other than that, I liked ricky), the cavs would have been the team in charlotte or ok city. think back at how bad they were. I even think David Stern probably got paid by Gund to fix the lottery. Douchebag comes her and saves the franchise. playoffs, watch parties, money flowing into the city....then he quits on the team because his buddy flash says, "come to south beach, where you can party and bang a different chick every night while his baby mama sits in a mansion in Akron waiting to marry him (but I digress). Now, all his old team mates are looking from a far with envy and could care less about the fans here or playing ball. Byron Scott doesn't deserve this group because he's a good coach. You don't lose to a team like Minnesota, like they did last night. They are quitting on Scott just like Douchebag quit in the playoffs last year. So here it is....tear it down. Trade all the high priced guys at the deadline and start stocking up on draft picks. Get rid of boobie, andy, jamison, mo, moon, and the rest of the douchebag "inner circle". Keep JJ (cause I don't think douchebag liked him because he took away some of his star power when he started doing good). Those guys WERE trying to move on but after the other night, with all the joking around and hugging with the douchebag RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME, they showed they can't. Tear it down. Get draft picks, start over and remove the rest of the cancerous cells. Gilbert wants to win a championship but he won't even compete with this group. Tear it down. If this doesn't happen, Gilbert will sell the team because he's a good businessman and owning this mess is not good business. Tear it down....because if you don't, it will be gone in 3 to 5 years anyway(if anyone cares). Douchebag saved and killed the same franchise

Minneapolis Trip

Had a really good time visiting Minneapolis for two Twins games. Despite losses in both games, enjoyed the city, the food and the people.

Retired Numbers

Lots of blond hair and blues eyes in the upper midwest

Really nice downtown. Easy walking to everything. Huberts Sports Bar & Grill and Smalley's 87 are recommended before the game.

....and now it's back to the gravelpit

If you lived it, you'll like it.

Just finished this book. I good read if you lived it, which I did. I remember hearing Blizzard of Ozz in 1980 and everything changed. Didn't see Rhoads, but saw Jake E. Lee on the Bark @ the Moon tour, February84

The Perfect Bloody Mary

I found this while reading "The Playboy Advisor" so I thought I would share it.

1.5 oz vodka (I prefer Kettle One)
0.5 teaspoon horseradish
dash of celery salt
2 dashes of ground black pepper
0.5 teaspoon worchestershire sause (lea & perrains)
0.5 teaspoon lemon juice
3 drops tabasco sauce
6 oz tomato juice
2 oz clam juice

(Use a 16 oz pint glass)

Lemon wedge the rim of the glass and coat rim with 1 tablespoon celery salt, .25 teaspoon Old Bay and a pinch of black pepper.

Add ice into stainless steel shaker and sprinkle with rim coating mixture then  mix all liquid ingredients and horseradish into shaker .....shake well....pour into pint glass, toss in a squeezed lemon wedge, dill pickle spear and a cocktail shrimp (if available). I don't like olives but feel free.

I have yet to make it so let me know how yours turned out . Make sure to serve with 8 to 12 oz of beer on the side.

Don't mind the small increase of teams to the NCAA tourny...as long as people can still fill out their bracket on one sheet, the tourny will still thrive....96 teams, it will not...keep it on one sheet, that's the key

Florida Trip

Fla last Thursday thru Monday, checked out a lot of places of which was Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain's "Rock n Roll Ribs". Maiden flight 666 was on the dvd as me and my sister munched on fall off the bone baby backs and what has become the best pulled pork sandwich I ever had. Place had several pieces of memorabilia that were quite interesting.

Spent some time in the seminole casino for a donation amongst the dance of the dead. Mental note, don't live in fla when I'm retired.

Visited former Dolphin Bob Brudzinski's "Brus Room" grill and bar for a few. Good place to watch a game

Off to Key West on Friday morning. Finally got to see real blue water like on TV, which was cool . Then we hit Duval Street and the famous Sloppy Joes. Smelled like a mixture of puke, beer and Jaegermeister.

Had some beers and raw bar at a place called Jacks Seafood House. Off to the Marriott Key West for a night stay and dinner at the #1 rated restaurant on Key West, ToWN & Tavern...good stuff, but I could have done without the guitar player up my ass while I ate.

Headed back to the mainland saturday morning and had lunch at this outdoor fish warehouse on Islamorada Key. Pretty nice outdoor seafood bar .

All in all, good visit and adventure, ending up in a tornado warning. I live in Ohio all my life and it takes a trip to florida to be in one. We made it but it was a little scary. Touched down in pompano , close by.

A little late, but

Overtime Changes?

OK, so the NFL owners approve overtime changes for the playoffs, 28-4. The change goes like this, keep in mind, playoffs only:

if a team wins the coin toss and then kicks a field goal, the other team gets the ball. If that next series ends with another field goal, play will continue under the current sudden-death rules.

If the team winning the toss immediately scores a touchdown, however, the game is over.
I don't mind change, but change should go for the regular season too.

For the record, the only reason they are doing this is because Favre threw that pick in January when his old ass should have ran for the 5 yards to put the Vikes in FG range.

Z is back, Duke moves on to the Sweet 16, Big Joe signs for 184 million, Nathan is done for the season.

I love betting pizza

Since the new season of Family Jewels starts tonight, thought this was appropriate. One of my favorite  Kiss tunes of all time.

So, catchin up, got Maiden tickets yesterday for July 15th. Mr Santarelli is in for a treat I don't think he is ready for.

Nice to see March Madness is kickin in with all the upsets. Sports is the best reality TV out there . Took a vacation day to follow the madness as the Vegas trip never materialized so I made the best of it. Word to the wise, don't go to TGIFridays if you have the slightest of buzz's on. The Fridays house mother will have her eye on you.

Monday, Bloody Monday

Heard a real good interview with WASP's Blackie Lawless tonight on Eddie Trunk Live.

Good move by Mr Potatohead keeping LB on the sideline tonight. Got a win and now he will have a week of rest on that ankle. Delonte is just fearless

If Ben did it, start the Dennis Dixon era

Saturday, March 6, 2010

No LBJ tonight

...Mr Potatohead holding LB out due to an ankle tweek last night...still like the Cavs against the red hot Bucks...it will be tough....the young guys will step up

Z's gone, but will probably return

I'm so glad the Cavs backed off of Amare because Jameson was what they needed. Read Terry Pluto's reaction here . I don't think Stoudemire is as good as some think, just my take

Rumor has it

Check this out....They better not trade Z. I'm trusting Danny ferry to do the right thing. Only player I would trade for JJ is Jamison

Tonight on the Boneyard

Listened to a good interview with Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick and now, the original Maiden frontman, Paul Dianno....Good stuff! Up the Irons!

Phantom Of the Opera

Cavs have their hands full tonight with the Flash

So Peyton carves up the Jets and Brett makes a huge mistake....Saints lucky to hang on in the end. Do they win without the turnovers? don't think so. Colts cover the 4 in the Bowl

Sunday Picks

Will not be posted due to the 0-4 saturday shellacing I took. Good thing I'm a small timer. Just goes to show you, I know nothing. LOL.

Just kidding...here we go

Chargers -7 and over 42

Vikes -2.5 and over 45.5

Going with both chalks today, since yesterday didn't work out with the dogs.

Caught the Cavs/Clips game late last night and for being down like they were, on the last day of a west coast trip, they could have packed it in. Instead, they were diving for loose balls out of bounds and playing stifling D to grab a win.  31-11, halfway through, with all those road games? I'll take it. Remember, the regular season means nothing this year (although it will be nice to hang another Division title banner up).

Saturday, January 16, 2010

Saturday NFL picks

Cards +7 and under 57 (Saints win game, 23-20) Bad FG kickers will play into this

Ravens +6.5 and over 44 (Ravens, 27-23)

This is what I like, don't bet your house, though

Weekend recap

Jets make me look smart as they beat Carson and the Cornholes (I mentioned, maybe not in this space, that Cincy was 1 and done) . Chargers end their run butdo they cover the 9?Eagles don't show up again but Romo and the Boys will have a tough time in the Metrodome. Blue Tom and Big Bad Bill (who will now be referred to as "Sweet William") are done. Ravens look to be on a mission, ala 2005 Steelers. Never used to be a big Kurt Warner fan but the guy never throws a bad ball (indoors). Saints could be in trouble. Over 56 looks like a lock. BTW, the parlay of the Cards and the over yesterday saved me from bad weekend.

Cavs bounce back in the Rose Garden last night. LBJ wears one orange and one blue shoe "in honor of Mark Price, Larry Nance, Craig Ehlo, Brad Daugherty and the rest of the Cavs from the early 90's." Nice touch.

Should be a track meet in Oakland tonight.

10th version of the Jug celebration was Saturday, $3.50 Stella's all day....and never ending french fries at Mayfield Panini. Good time fellas
